Gardening Day

Our Gardening Day was a day of two halves. The Morning was very wet, but we stuck at it, weeding and sweeping up the leaves and trimming the wildlife hedge.

We planted lots of spring flowering bulbs and Max brought us some super special BLACK 'tulpen' from Holland which we will be very excited to see in Spring!

In the afternoon there was sun! We cut back our special butterfly garden and added some more spring flowering bulbs to start the insects off in Spring after their cold winter.

Perhaps we need to build them somewhere to live during the cold winter? The Nursery children think a Bug Hotel is needed in the corner so we are planning that next!

We also watered our Brussel Sprouts with soapy water as some flies have taken a liking to the leaves- do not worry though, the sprouts will still taste lovely when we harvest them!

The broad beans have been put in their deep soil bed to over-winter and grow, they will be ready in May- we will have fun watching them grow and develop.
