6th - 9th October
Weekly Timetable
Phonics, handwriting and reading
Handwriting - use the posters, the handwriting sheet or simply make your own to practice your handwriting and forming the letters correctly. You can also use the YouTube link if you wish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iXUU47gvC8
Extra challenge - use the letters you have practised in a word or sentence! Can you think of words that contain lots of curly caterpillar, ladder, one armed robot and zigzag monster letters?
Reading - This week your child should have new reading books and a library book to practise. Please read with your child and develop their fluency and confidence with reading. The ebooks that are available on the Oxford Reading Owl (free when you sign up) are similar to the reading books we have sent home. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page
There are some nice story ebooks on there too if you want to enjoy these during story time or at bed time! I recently came across a story called "Everybody worries" which is quite a nice read and way to prompt questions about worrying - https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/api/interactives/29765.html
Phonics - Please see the Phonics lessons section on the Home Learning section of our Year 1 page. There are videos from Mrs Partington and activities to complete
