HOME SCHOOLING March - July 2020

More great online home learning resources!

The Oak National Academy have release another great online learning hub.

Lessons are age specific and easy to follow. Teachers have recorded videos of themselves talking which I think the children will find very engaging.

Have a look and see what you think, remember to do as little or as much as you can!

Summer Term - Welcome Back!

20th April 2020

Good morning Year 1! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Break, spending lots of time with your family in the sunshine!

Today would be our first day back at school and the start of our new topic "Funky Farmers". Have you ever been to a farm? What do you know about farms and the animals that live there?

Going forward,  we are hoping to give you a weekly 'plan', from Monday, with a selection of activities for the week.

Each week we would love it if you come complete some English work (this includes phonics and reading) , some Maths work and some "topic" work! We will give you ideas, videos, websites and worksheets for the week around what we would like you to learn each week (the best you can!)

We know it's hard to work at home especially when your grown ups are working and you have brothers and sisters that are trying to work hard too. That's why we would love to hear from you! :) Please get in touch if you have any questions or you want to share your work or you can keep your work and we can show it when we are back at school.

Your weekly planning ideas are now available in the "homeschooling" icon below! This will be updated every Monday for the new week :) We will keep adding any extra activities that we know you'll enjoy and messages to keep you motivated! Remember to keep READING and practicing your PHONICS!

To keep you busy today we thought it would be a nice idea to make a "time capsule" because you are making History right now!! Have a look at the document, print it off or make your own and complete it with all the information about you right now! You can look back at this in years to come and remember how you were in Year 1 during this significant time and how special and amazing you are !!!

Please also take a look at the BBC Bitesize website, they are starting their home schooling activities today and are providing 3 lessons a day to help with learning at home. I've signed up and it's great! Spend the day navigating the website and seeing if this is something you think you could use. Let us know!

Remember, you can only do your best!!

Sending lots of smiles,

Miss James and Mrs Partington
