This week we are going to be practising joining to the letter e. At the top of the first image p26, it models an example of what your join should be like to the letter e. Use the first image to practise your e join. Use the lines in your book or on your paper to draw your letters the correct shape and size. This is something that we are practising all the time!

LO: To explore the skills needed to successfully read out loud.

Today we will be recognising similes within a text. We will also be learning how to read poetry with confidence and expression. We will look at how to use intonation, different volumes and varied pace to make our reading out loud even more fantastic!

Watch the teaching video below.

LO: To give change from amounts of money.

Warm Up

Practise x tables using game in class or Hit The Button at home

Let’s choose 6’s today and see how confident we are! If you are really confident with this today, choose another one that you are less confident with and practise that too! If you are confident with them all, try your TTRS or a mix on Hit The Button.

Main Activity

Today we are going to be using money again and this time giving change.

Please watch the video lesson.

Please work through the Monday Power Point to make sure you understand what was mentioned in the video.

Complete the Monday activity. This can be printed out or write answers in your home learning book. Please don’t copy all of the questions out, just write your answers. Use any jottings and methods you would like to work out your answers in your book too, just like we do at school!

Check your work alongside the answers.

How did you do today?

If the above work challenged you then you do not need to do this activity. Look at the Monday Extension Activity and choose either p1,2 or 3. Challenge yourself to answer some of the problems. You can check using the answers and talk through these.

This week you will listen to a chapter each day from The Boy Who Grew Dragons by Andy Shepherd.

You can keep a daily reading journal, writing down or drawing your thoughts and feelings about what happens in the chapter.

There is also a stand alone reading comprehension linked to our Science topic, if you are unable to access the video.

Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire?

LO: To use the ‘Repeat until’ command

This lesson is over 2-3 weeks so that you develop your confidence.

Today children we are going to visit Learn.code.org again

Scroll down to the Classic Maze

Revisit Level 6 and the repeat until function.

The bird will repeat that function until it can't… then it will do what you have asked and carry on.

This is the most efficient way for the coding. It is quicker and easier. It makes the code shorter and simpler than lots of lines of coding. This means that if there is a problem in the code- a bug- it is easier to debug as you can locate the error more quickly.

Travel through level 14 and 15. Follow the instructions and any sample videos as you go. This is now getting quite tricky but I know you will be determined. You may need to visit this several times over the next couple of weeks to improve your confidence and skill level.
