MESSAGE FROM MRS COLLINS
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are all well and making the most of the lovely spring weather with your children.
Key worker families
Thank you for your support in helping to reduce the number of children attending school during the closure. We now have around 20 children attending school, mostly children who have two key worker parents. If there is another parent or adult who can look after your child safely at home, it is vital for the health and well-being of our children and staff that you do not send your child into school.
Please do not send your child into school if they have a temperature of 37.8C or above, a new persistent cough or there is a member of the family currently self-isolating with symptoms.
We recommend you take your child’s temperature every day before school if possible.
Last Friday we sent home learning packs for the children to complete at home. In addition to this, all children have access to online learning platforms such as Purple Mash and Espresso. Please check out the year group pages on our website under ‘Pupils’ and ‘Class pages’. The teachers have written a daily message for the year group and are regularly uploading activities for the children to do at home. We are currently looking into other ways to communicate with the children over the coming weeks so they can share with us some of the fantastic things they are doing at home.
Our SENDCo, Mrs Milne, is regularly updating the SEND page of our school website to provide support, advice and strategies for our families with children who have special educational needs. This page can be found under ‘Key information’ and ‘SEND’. We continue to work remotely with the Learning Support service, Behaviour Support service and Educational Psychology throughout the school closure. If you require any specific support or advice please let us know.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has sent emails and messages of support and congratulations following my appointment as Headteacher. I am fully committed to building upon the school’s high standards and success and will strive to ensure the very best care and education for the children of Didsbury Road over the coming years.
For now, my main priority is ensuring that as a school we do our very best to keep our children, staff and community safe and well during this time.
Please take care, stay safe and keep well.
