Timetable for the week!
Phonics, handwriting and reading
Handwriting - use the posters, the handwriting sheet or simply make your own to practice your handwriting and forming the letters correctly. You can also use the YouTube link if you wish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iXUU47gvC8
Extra challenge - use the letters you have practiced in a word or sentence! Can you think of words that contain lots of curly caterpillar or one armed robot letters?!
Reading - When we assessed your child's reading this week most pupils in Year 1 are on “Book Band” pink to blue. Please read with your child and develop their fluency and confidence with reading. The ebooks that are available on the Oxford Reading Owl (free when you sign up) are similar to the reading books we will be sending home in the near future. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page
There are some nice story ebooks on there too if you want to enjoy these during story time or at bed time! I recently came across a story called "Everybody worries" which is quite a nice read and way to prompt questions about worrying - https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/api/interactives/29765.html
Phonics - Please see the individual phonics lessons for each day below! They include a video by Miss James, a youtube video and activities to play at home!

In these unusual times it is important that we look after ourselves and think about our feelings. It’s okay to feel nervous or worried, the best thing we can do is talk to someone about it! Try out some of these activities at home to help you feel happy and calm :)
There is a story video for you to watch on the link below - click on Home Learning, scroll down to Video Centre, and the video is under Year 1 Home Learning and is called Ruby's Worry story. I hope you enjoy it!
