SEND and Extra Support Message

Welcome back and thank you for joining us for our second full week of home learning.

You may have noticed that we have added an extra page (with the fox logo on the previous page) onto this week. This is to help our SEND children and children that need extra support.

Have a look at this page and see if it's something you think you and your child will benefit from!

We will be creating a similar page every week, which links to the learning each week, to help our children that are missing out on the extra support they would usually receive in school.

Have a great week!

On Monday in school we start the week with our Music lessons. We hope that Miss Nolan (our Music teacher) is going to start providing Music lessons in the near future. In the meantime, Stockport Music have been adding videos to their YouTube channel including singing lessons with Jill Henderson Wilde.

Take a look below!

This week we are carrying on with the story of The Three Little Pigs, focusing on one naughty character! We really enjoyed all your work on this story last week and can't wait to see what you do this week. Please see the resources and videos below. Today's lesson is about the Big Bad Wolf, and what we can do to help catch him. Your activity for today is to make a WANTED poster for the wolf! You can use the template below or design your own one!

We are starting Phase 5!

Today we are learning about the “ay” grapheme.

Watch the video and join in - https://didsbury.primarysite.media/media/monday-18th-jan-phonics-ay-lesson-1 (too large for the main website today!)

Print off or write out the “ay” words below and use them to practise reading the “ay” grapheme.

Play bingo, speed read them, hide them in your house and go on a sound hunt – whatever you want!

Following on from 11 - 20 last week we are looking at comparing groups of objects!

To work practically today find some small objects (counters, sweets, buttons...) and use them to help you compare groups of objects practically (hands on!)

You might need a piece of paper and a pencil too (and scissors if you want to make the word cards)

Watch the video and complete the White Rose (WR) worksheet if you enjoy this way of learning.

Otherwise, you can follow Miss James' practical lesson by watching her video.

I have added some more challenging activities to the list as well this week. Use the adult guidance to help guide the activities if you require more challenge.

Live Check-In @ 11:30am

Use your child's Gmail account to log in and access the Google Meet with the link your teacher has sent you.

The spelling words we will be practising this week contain the grapheme "ai" - watch the video below!

Please practise these spellings this week ready for next weeks lesson!

Good Luck! laugh

Today we are starting our brand new Science topic all about plants! Our first lesson looks at what plants need to grow and be healthy, and we're also going to plant some seeds together! If you'd like to plant some seeds yourself at home that's great, but we understand it might be difficult so we will be monitoring the ones we plant today together throughout the term :)

The video was a little longer and too large for the page today so you can find it here on the Video Centre: https://didsbury.primarysite.media/media/monday-18th-january-science

Your activity is to write a sentence next to each picture describing how to plant a seed. Use the video to help you and the word mat for spelling. There are two versions, one with blank sentence lines and a gap fill so please choose the one you feel most comfortable with. Enjoy!
