Associate Partners

At Didsbury Road Primary School we are Lead Associate Partners for Early Years teaching and learning and train and support colleagues in the Early Years within and beyond Stockport LA.

 

Didsbury Road Early Years is a well-established team with expertise in all areas of the Early Years curriculum, as well as Leadership and Management and LA Moderation. We have been involved in sharing good practice with other schools for over 10 years, providing a wide variety of training, from leading conference events for the LA to working with individual schools on their identified focus. We welcome visitors to observe us in session to experience our outstanding organisation of teaching and learning, inside and outside. Our experienced, enthusiastic and talented team enjoy sharing their expertise with trainee and newly qualified teachers as well as more experienced teachers.

 

The Early Years team work together to provide exciting and challenging play opportunities across all areas of the curriculum, inside and outside. Continuous Provision Areas are well established and reflect the interests of the children within the class. These areas provide excellent opportunities for the children to practise the skills they are taught independently.

 

We are committed to ensuring all children reach their full potential across both the Prime and Specific areas of learning and we have improved outcomes for children year on year, particularly in the exceeding judgement.

 

Through the Stockport LA Associate Partnership we are able to provide support to Early Years practitioners and deliver bespoke training appropriate to the specific requirements and requests of schools. We can offer support in the following areas:

 

• Leadership and Management of the Early Years
• Maths: Achieving the ELGs and Beyond
• Promoting, observing and assessing early writing skills
• Outstanding outdoor provision that complements indoor learning

 

Over the last two years we have delivered training around developing EYFS provision areas, the organisation of the indoor and outdoor learning environment and raising standards in maths and writing. We have supported teachers with planning, teaching and learning strategies and assessment procedures including reporting to parents. We have also led training for NQTs and RQTs. In addition to our work with Associate Partners we are also fortunate to work closely with other training providers including EY2P and Early Excellence.
