Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium
Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011, and paid by means of a specific grant based on school census figures for pupils registered as eligible for free school meals, children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces and children who are Looked After or were Previously Looked After. The Pupil Premium is additional to main school funding and is used by the school to address any underlying inequalities, by ensuring that funding reaches the pupils who need it most.
Recovery Premium
The Recovery Premium grant is part of the government’s package of funding to support pupils whose education has been impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19).
Recovery Premium funding is focused on pupil premium eligible pupils. This is because of the additional impact of the pandemic on these students.
