Dear Parents and Carers

 

I hope you and your children are well and have enjoyed the summer break.

 

Over the holiday, building work has taken place to remodel the main entrance area, staff offices and facilities at the front of school. This is to make better use of the space and to create a more suitable entrance area. Please bear with us when visiting the school office as the work is not quite finished yet. The work is due for completion by October half term and will not impact on the children.

 

We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to school tomorrow. School starts promptly at 8.55am.

 

Year 1 & 2 should be dropped off in the Key stage 1 playground from 8.45am. Please do not leave your child in the playground unsupervised. Parents and carers may leave as soon as the class teacher or teaching assistant has arrived to greet the children.

 

Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 may be dropped off at the Key Stage 2 gate between 8.45-8.55am. The children can go straight to their classrooms and the playground gate will be supervised by a member of staff.

February Half Term Swimming Holiday courses - 20/02- 24/02 2023 

 

Holiday courses run every school holiday at all of our Life Leisure pools.  Children swim every day and therefore build up their confidence quickly which shows in the progression they make.   

 

We are running Beginner, 5m Beginner, 10m Improver & Stroke Improver courses and for stronger swimmers a Rookie Lifeguard course. £36 for the 5 days!

New to Romiley this half term, they have introduced a class for SEND swimmers who are at the beginner level. (contact Romiley.swimming@lifeleisure.net directly)

Reminder

Bookshare and Look at our Learning sessions are taking place from 13th - 17th February, 8.25-8.45am. This is an opportunity for parents and carers to come into school to look at their child's learning. Please see the calendar for your child's class dates.

Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, a period of national mourning has now started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. 

The official date of the State Funeral in Monday 19th September. This day will be a bank holiday and the school will be closed.

We are truly saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and our thoughts are with the royal family at this time. We held a special assembly today to remember, reflect and pay tribute to her wonderful lifetime of service.
