Week Commencing - Autumn Animal Habitats

* The children have been learning about animal habitats. Where does a fox, badger, squirrel and hedgehog live?

* We also discussed the importance of sharing, taking turns, speaking clearly and answering questions.

* We practised painting the veins on the leaves this week and are super are painting long lines.

* We did some fabulous leaf printing to decorate our owl and hedgehogs and they looked awesome.

* We practised our cutting skills using our special scissors which helps with strengthening our finger muscles.

* We had our first PE lesson in the hall. We were wizards and witches and had to fly around on our broomsticks. We learnt the importance of space, speed and spatial awareness. We had so much fun!

* We practised how to make simple body percussion with our monster phonics Uh-hoo! We did amazing!

* We are doing amazing with our nursery rhymes singing and created a stage so we can individually perform for our friends!

* We were also introduced to the finger frenzy table to help with our fine motor skills and co-ordination.

* We were introduced to our new Mud Kitchen with lentils, pasta and lots of pots and pans! So much fun!

Week Commencing - Owl Babies

* We loved the story of OWL BABIES and had so much fun reading and watching the animated version of this famous book

* We explored the different types of owls, discussed their habitats, their features and what they eat too! Yuck!

* We painted our very own baby owls with super funky feathers for wings!

* Black cat, our monster phonics friend, taught us how to make patterns using our body parts! Great sequencing here!

* We enjoyed riding our two new BMW cars outside, and learnt how to take turns and share the fun!

* We explored the iPads this week and practised sorting out, sizes, colours and counting

* We have been practising to write in our hedgehog hospital using patterned lines

* We have had so much fun building a city using wooden blocks, creating roads, placing trees and houses on the edge of the road.

* We practised how to make three baby owls of different sizes using playdough

* We also did some fruit printing to create a repetitive pattern.

Week commencing  - Hedgehogs

*We learnt all about hedgehogs this week, what they eat and what they do all night!

* We made hedgehogs using playdough and  various media.

* We played in our Autumn role play area and turned ourselves into Vets in our Hedgehog hospital.

* We played a hedgehog game using the dice with lots of counting and collecting bugs.

* We did some sitting yoga stretches by pretending to make a pizza.

* We did some hedgehog fork painting.

* We learnt all about blocks and shapes and know how to build tall towers through strategic building

* We are also learning lots of nursery rhymes this week too!

Week commencing  - Autumn season

* The children were introduced to Monster phonics and learnt how to identify everyday sounds and copy them, such as animal noises.

* The children learnt about Autumn is and the signs of Autumn they  will soon be spotting.

* The children loved their music lesson with Ms Nolan, learning different ways to create sounds on instruments.

*  We did some lovely leaf rubbings and making nature faces outside.

* We practised our writing skills through patterned line drawing

* We made woodland habitats using various natural media
