LO: to explore the features of an ordnance survey map

Go through PPT and talk through the features which make an OS map and why they are used.

 Key points are:

• Symbols not words (as very detailed and saves space)
• Contour lines
• Grid references
• An accurate representation of the land showing both physical and human features
