Handwriting

Monday

This week we are going to be practising joining from the letter c. At the top of the first image p22, it models an example of what your join should be like from the letter c. Use the first image to practise your c join. Use the lines in your book or on your paper to draw your letters the correct shape and size. This is something that we are practising all the time!

English

This week we will be learning how to write an explanation text.

Today we will be identifying the key features of an explanation text. Watch the video below to find out more:

An explanation text explains how something works or why it occurs. Have a look at the image of the toaster below, can you explain to a sibling/parent/carer  how a toaster works?

Now look at this plant, can you explain how a plant grows?

Maths

LO: To divide 2 digits by 1 digit

Warm Up: Practise x tables using game in class or Hit The Button at home

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Let’s choose 4’s today and see how confident we are! If you are really confident with this today, choose another one that you are less confident with and practise that too! If you are confident with them all, try your TTRS or a mix on Hit The Button.

Main Activity

Today we are dividing 2 digit numbers by 1 digit and building on our learning from last week.

Please work through the Monday Power Point to make sure you understand what was mentioned in the video.

Complete the Monday activity. This can be printed out or write answers in your home learning book. Please don’t copy all of the questions out, just write your answers. Use any jottings and methods you would like to work out your answers in your book too, just like we do at school!

Check your work alongside the answers.

How did you do today?

Extension

Some Code Hunting Fun now! If possible download a QR code reading app on an adult’s phone. Complete the Code Hunting problems and check your answers using the QR code reader app.
