Initial Teacher Education at Didsbury Road Primary School

Didsbury Road has been actively involved in initial teacher education (ITE) for over fifteen years. We are the hub school for the University of Manchester's PGCE Stockport cluster. We liaise with tutors at the university to allocate teaching placements at schools across Stockport and south Manchester. In addition, Didsbury Road hosts trainees on placements and we and other schools in our cluster run additional training sessions on a range of areas for our allocated trainees.

At Didsbury Road we have a long track record of successfully supporting those embarking on their teaching career. We believe strongly that graduates who choose teaching as their profession should be provided with the highest quality training, support and encouragement. We have a very experienced, enthusiastic and talented teaching staff at our school, and enjoy sharing this expertise with the next generation of teachers. Working with trainee teachers has brought many benefits to our school, not least talented new teachers to join our teaching staff!
