Friday 22nd May 2020
Good morning Year 2 children and parents,
Today is the last day before our two week Whit holiday and don't you all deserve the upcoming break?!
You've been working so hard and we are both extremely proud of you all - I bet your parents are too!
Enjoy your break and have lots of fun
Remember, it's Eid al-Fitr tomorrow (begins in the evening of 23rd May and ends in the evening of 24th May). Will you be wishing anyone a blessed Eid? - Eid Mubarak!
It's also Spring Bank Holiday on Monday 25th May so let's hope the sun keeps on shining
Click here to find out more about why we have bank holidays.
Our year group blog is up and running so if you have something to say or share with the rest of Year 2
We have uploaded your new set of lessons for you to complete and enjoy!
This week we have uploaded:
- A set of English lessons which you will find on the English page below

- A Science lesson on animal groups and classifications on the Science page below

This week (18th – 24th May) is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme for 2020 is kindness.
(We’d love to hear about your acts of kindness over on our year group blog).
Click here to access the Mental Health Awareness Week website, watch the video and see how you can get involved!
The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week links really nicely with our current RE topic and if you haven't done so already, now would be a great time to begin the Ramadan kindness activity (click on the RE page below for more details). Alternatively, you might want to have a go at one of the following kindness challenges:
Don't forget you can kick start your day with Joe Wicks at 9am, continue with your 'Cereal Box City' project, finish your Lowry competition drawing, complete some of the May Art Challenge, take part in the Ramadan Kindness Challenge or send Miss James a poem or photos of your daily walk when you have spare time!
Enjoy this week's lessons and remember that we are only an email away if you need to ask anything or would like to share your work with us. We love to hear from you!
Have a good day, a wonderful break and keep smiling,
Miss Balfe and Mrs Hodgson
