LO: To recognise and use causal conjunctions

Warm up - Load up and print out the highlighted sheet of ‘Teacher Pleaser’

Based on the colours, identify which colour applies to which feature of an explanation text.

Activity – continuing from yesterday’s lesson on causal conjunctions. Load up the worksheet and select which causal conjunction should be used for the sentence to make sense. Copy out the sentences in your neatest handwriting. There are different levels of ability here so please select one which will challenge you.

Extension – Write at least 5 of your own sentences using causal conjunctions.

Maths

Warm Up

Practise x tables and division facts using our circles today. There is a document attached called Wednesday Circles. If you can print this out that would be great. If not then just write the answers for each circle in a list. Do as many as you can in ten minutes, then stop. We shall have another go at this next week to see if we are a little more confident.

Main Activity

Today we are investigating how many ways. This is investigating combinations.

Please watch the video lesson.

Please work through the Wednesday Power Point to make sure you understand what was mentioned in the video.

Complete the Wednesday activity. This can be printed out or write answers in your home learning book. Please don’t copy all of the questions out, just write your answers. Use any jottings and methods you would like to work out your answers in your book too, just like we do at school!

Check your work alongside the answers.

Extension

You will have found by now that working in a methodical way and starting with one thing and listing the combinations, is the best way to work to make sure you achieve all the possibilities.

Using the following digits I would like you to list all the possible 4 digit numbers.

Starter: Did anyone have a new year’s resolution? Have you kept to it? Why/why not?

Talk about what makes goals achievable – specific and realistic and a reason why it would be a good goal (how does it benefit you or other people).

Load up and print out the Goals worksheet.

Think of a goal which you would like to achieve and what you are going to do to try and achieve this goal.

PE, Keeping Fit and Active

For today's PE lesson we would like you to develop your footwork and improve your agility, balance and coordination.

Please watch the youtube video and then set up your own course either in your house or in your garden.

Please make sure you have enough space and that you are safe.

I'd love to see how you get on, so if you would like to film yourself and email in to the year 3 email, then that would be great!
